Learning to Please Daddy God
As we study the Bible, we learn there are several things that please our Heavenly Father. These are principles and actions that align with His will, character, and desires for His people. Below are key scriptures that highlight what pleases God, along with a declaration and prayer:
First We Must Have Faith in God
Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) – "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Faith is central to pleasing God. Believing in His existence and His goodness is fundamental to walking with Him.
Next, We Must Practice Obedience to God's Commands.
1 John 3:22 (NIV) – "And we receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him."
Obeying God's commandments and living according to His will pleases Him.
Third We Must understand We Only Succeed With His Help, Which Gives Us Humble and Contrite Hearts,
Psalm 51:17 (NIV) – "My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise."
God delights in humility, repentance, and a heart that is sorrowful over sin, recognizing the need for His grace.
Learn to Know Who God Is, so We Fall in Love with Him and Have the Ability to Love Others..
Ephesians 5:2 (NIV) – "And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Loving others, as Christ loved us, is a fragrant offering that pleases God.
Practice Generosity and Giving
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) – "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
God is pleased when we give willingly and cheerfully, with a heart of generosity.
Always Be Thankful For Everything God Has Done for Us.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) – "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
Thankfulness in all circumstances, recognizing God's hand in everything, pleases God.
We Are to Practice Walking in the Light of His Word and the Silent Voice within US.
1 John 1:7 (NIV) – "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
Living in the truth and walking in the light of God’s Word pleases Him and keeps us in fellowship with Him.
