Every Promise to Believers Is MINE, but We Must Forgive!

The image has a saying, "Words have power." With a broom sweeping away letters.

When we forgive, we unleash God's power in our lives and stop the evil working through us and others. Forgiveness is not just an act of releasing bitterness; it’s an act of stepping into the authority Jesus gave us. In Luke 10:19 we read, "Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you." We hold this authority when we forgive those who wrong us and refuse to allow the enemy to use us for evil. Mark 6:7 reminds us, “Jesus gave His disciples authority over evil spirits.” As believers, that authority belongs to us!

Yet, many Christians still ask, “Why do we face sickness,

financial struggles, or loss?” God's promises are sure, as Numbers 23:19 NIV states: “God is not a human being, and He will not lie. He is not a human, and He does not change His mind. What He says He will do, He does. What He promises, He makes come true.” We must remember that the enemy works to steal these promises from us, as John 10:10 warns: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

The real question becomes, "Is the devil stronger in our lives than our loving Heavenly Father?" The answer is no. As believers, we are saved by grace and equipped with the power of our words. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV reminds us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Our words have the power to shape our reality, as Proverbs 18:21 tells us: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.”

One of the greatest hindrances to receiving all of God’s promises is unforgiveness. Today, we will break that barrier, and hold the devil accountable for his lies. We remember that Ephesians 6:12 KJV says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” When we forgive those the devil uses against us, we strip him of power. Yet, we must hold the powers of darkness accountable for the attacks.

Declarations:

  1. List all those the enemy used to hurt you. Out loud say: “Lord, I choose to forgive ‘Peter,’ and I ask You to heal all my emotions and to restore seven times all that has been stolen from me according to Your promises.”

  2. “Lord, forgive me for saying evil or wishing harm on those I thought were my enemies. I now understand the enemy was using them to curse me, but those curses have no power.”

  3. “Devil, I bind all evil assignments set against me and release every promise from Daddy God that brings me life, healing, and prosperity. All evil is destroyed in my life!”

Prayer: In Jesus’ name, I come boldly before You, Daddy God, and receive all Your blessings. Thank You for healing the wounds inflicted on me through people, because I now understand where those negative words and gossip came from. Thank You for the many blessings I am receiving because I choose to forgive, accept Your healing, and walk in Your promises today.

May we remember that Luke 10:19 and Mark 6:7 declare our authority over the enemy. Every promise from God is ours, and as we forgive, we walk in freedom, prosperity, and peace.
