Win Using God’s Promises

We are given the abilities to resist Satan and overcome his attacks. Below are key actions to take when Satan wars against us, supported by Bible verses, along with declarations and a prayer for victory.

We are Instructed to Submit to God and Resist the Devil
James 4:7 (NIV) "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Victory begins with surrendering to God's authority. By aligning with Him and standing firm against the devil, we are assured of his retreat.

We Are to Use the Word of God as Our Weapon.

A Bible open with a bright light shining out of it.

Ephesians 6:17 (ESV)"Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Matthew 4:4 (KJV)"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Explanation: Jesus used Scripture to counter Satan's temptations, showing us the power of God's Word as a spiritual weapon.

We Have Been Discussing the Mandate to Put on the Full Armor of God
Ephesians 6:11-13 (NIV)"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

Spiritual warfare requires spiritual armor—truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.

Always Speak to Our Lord in Our Thoughts or Pray Constantly
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV)"Pray without ceasing."
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Explanation: Prayer keeps us connected to God and empowers us to stand firm against the enemy.

Don’t Allow Weakness or Hopelessness to Creep in - Stand Firm in Faith
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NIV)"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings."

A steadfast faith is essential to resist Satan's attacks. Confidence in God's promises is our anchor.

Use Our Words to Declare Our Victory through Christ
Colossians 2:15 (NIV) "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."

Jesus has already defeated Satan. We fight from a place of victory, enforcing His triumph.

Declarations:

  • "I submit myself to God and resist the devil; he must flee from me! (James 4:7)"

  • "I put on the full armor of God and stand firm against every scheme of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:11)"

  • "I declare that I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me. (Romans 8:37)"

  • "No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment I will condemn. (Isaiah 54:17)"

  • "I use the Word of God as my sword, declaring truth over every lie of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:17)"

Prayer for Victory:

Heavenly Father, I come before You in humility, submitting myself to Your authority. I thank You that through Jesus Christ, I have victory over every scheme of the enemy. I put on the full armor of God—Your truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the power of Your Word. Strengthen my faith to resist the devil, and remind me that he must flee in the name of Jesus. Lord, help me to stand firm, anchored in Your promises, and filled with the power of Your Spirit. I declare that no weapon formed against me will prosper, and I stand in the victory of the cross. Thank You for Your protection, Your power, and Your love. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.

These principles, declarations, and prayers equip us to overcome every attack of the enemy through the power of God's Word, faith, and the Holy Spirit. Victory is assured in Christ!
