Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) says, “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth (removing obstacles that block your way).”
Sometimes, we stand on God’s promises, keeping only positive thoughts and speaking our vision into victory. Trusting in God means believing we will excel and have a breakthrough in “due season if we faint not” or never give up. When we rely solely on our understanding and power, we fall short of our goals. We need to continually meditate on God’s promises and not just use the world’s systems, which may seem like the only solution. We live in a realm that doesn’t make sense to the natural mind. Overthinking and rationalizing can cause us to stray from the spiritual path to victory. God is loving and faithful, ready to help us when we repent and continue towards the blessings He has for us.
No matter what happens during our journey, if we put God first in every decision, the final outcome will be victory. He understands our weaknesses, and that’s why we rely on His strength when we are weak. Joel 3:10 (KJV) encourages us to fight against evil: “Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.” We are urged to continue fighting until we win according to God’s promises.
My husband quotes Gabrielle Giffords: “Mile by mile, it's a trial; yard by yard, it's hard; but inch by inch, it's a cinch.” We need to focus on what we can accomplish today, getting closer to our end goal step by step. This is like progressing from one level to the next.
Always remember, we are powerhouses in Christ as His children. Don’t stop fighting the good fight of faith, knowing that the end result is good.
