Giving Up and Resting in Jesus Are Not the Same

After we study God’s Word for every situation that faces us, and we speak and think only about how the Holy Spirit will help us achieve the needed results, we stand firm and rest in Him. We are never to worry because worrying means believing the lie that God’s promises won’t work for us. It is faith in the possibility that evil will win. We must practice having "God-like faith." This is the faith we are cultivating so that we can remove mountains. We will get to our victory “if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 KJV

Scriptures of encouragement:

Romans 15:13 NIV - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 3:9 NIV - “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Deuteronomy 31:6-8 NIV - “6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV - Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Don’t Give Up

Giving up is easier. Let’s face it, researching God’s promises  to overcome every situation. Saying those promises aloud to grow our faith and only speaking the scriptures is work. Standing, standing, and standing without growing weary until the answer comes is pure work. To make the situations more difficult, satan uses people to speak negatively into the situation, giving bad advice because they haven’t learned to bring Scriptural promises into their own lives, so they make your burden even heavier.

If you are blessed with individuals with whom you share Biblical promises, they can discuss, pray, and believe with you giving you additional spiritual support until the victory comes and the burdensome mountain has been removed.

Falling Away From Faith

We are not to fall away from faith. Consequences of these are pure confusion and strife.

Matthew 24:10-12 NIV,At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.”

What seeds are sown in the absence of faith and persevering for our miracles a list of things begin small and escalate into chaos,

  • Betrayal

  • Hate

  • False prophets will show up to feed off your misery and give lies for truth.

  • Increased wickedness and decreased power-pack faith to bring good instead of evil.

Remember, cultivating "God-like faith" requires dedication and perseverance. While it may be challenging, standing firm on God’s promises and surrounding yourself with supportive, faith-filled individuals can lead to spiritual victory and the removal of burdens. Let us not be swayed by negativity or fall away from our faith, for doing so brings confusion and strife. Instead, let us sow seeds of faith and perseverance, trusting in God’s promises to bring good into our lives and overcome every obstacle.
