Claiming God's Promises: Finding Financial Abundance

Let’s start discussing God’s promises for financial abundance. Read through these scriptures and record in your journal the ones that resonate with you the most. List both positive and negative ideas that come to mind. Then, brainstorm possible ways to eliminate the negatives in order to reinforce the positives. Address the negatives and intentionally remove them from your thoughts.

Old Testament

Psalm 23:1: "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing."
Explanation: This verse assures us that God, as our shepherd, will provide for all our needs.

Proverbs 10:22: "The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it."
Explanation: God's blessings bring true wealth, free from the stress and struggles often associated with material gain.

Deuteronomy 8:18: "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today."
Explanation: This reminds us that our ability to create wealth comes from God and is a fulfillment of His promises.

Psalm 34:10: "The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."
Explanation: Seeking the Lord ensures that we will not lack any good thing, highlighting God's provision for His faithful.

New Testament

Matthew 6:31-33: "So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Explanation: Prioritizing God's kingdom and righteousness brings assurance that our needs will be met.

Philippians 4:19: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."
Explanation: Paul reassures us that God will supply all our needs from His glorious riches in Christ.

2 Corinthians 9:8: "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
Explanation: God's abundant blessings enable us to be self-sufficient and generous in doing good.
