A Blank Slate

We are stepping into a brand-new year, an unwritten story of 365 pages waiting to be filled. Each day offers us the opportunity to write a chapter in our lives that reflects God’s goodness, mercy, and faithfulness. As we start this journey, we should pause and ask: What activities, words, and actions will be recorded at the end of today? Once spoken or done, these things cannot be reversed; they are permanently etched into the fabric of our lives and the lives of others for eternity. With this in mind, let us resolve to make this year a testimony of victories and a reflection of God’s work in and through us.

This year, let’s make a promise to ourselves and to God: we will strive to live intentionally, aligning our thoughts,

words, and actions with His will. Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) urges us to "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." By seeking His guidance daily, we ensure that each page of this year’s story brings glory to Him.

Let us practice the lessons we’ve learned about faith—how to speak to mountains and see them moved, just as Jesus instructed in Mark 11:23 (KJV), "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them." Mountains of fear, doubt, financial struggles, or broken relationships can be removed when we boldly declare God’s promises over our lives.

In this new year, let’s actively receive God’s provisions in every area of our lives—spiritually, financially, physically, and socially. Philippians 4:19 (KJV) reminds us, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus." Trusting Him for provision requires faith, but He is faithful to supply all that we need when we walk in obedience and seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33 KJV).

As we journey through 2025, let’s remind ourselves daily of Philippians 4:13 (KJV), "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." With Christ as our source of strength, there is no challenge too great, no obstacle too daunting. Partnering with the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to overcome, achieve, and thrive in every area of our lives. Whether it’s achieving a personal goal, restoring relationships, or stepping into new opportunities, we can face the future with boldness and confidence because we are not alone.

Let us also encourage one another in this journey. Hebrews 10:24-25 (KJV) calls us to "consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Surround yourself with a community of believers who will lift you up, pray for you, and celebrate your victories.

Finally, let us resolve to write a story of gratitude and faithfulness this year. Psalm 90:12 (KJV) teaches us, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Time is a gift, and each day is an opportunity to glorify God, grow in His grace, and bless those around us.

As we begin this first page of 365, may our lives be marked by faith, hope, and love, reflecting the goodness of our Heavenly Father. Let’s step forward with confidence, knowing that with God, every victory is possible, every provision is available, and every promise is certain. Together, let’s write a story that glorifies Him in all that we do.
