Knowing What Actions to Perform for Godly Greatness

A golden scale and judge's gavel symbolize justice and accountability, serving as a powerful reminder that how we judge others may one day be measured back to us.

The Bible teaches us, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Matthew 7:1-2, NIV). How often do we find ourselves critical of others, only to later face similar struggles? Scripture calls us to examine ourselves first: “But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment” (1 Corinthians 11:31, NIV).

There is a Court of Heaven where our sins would be counted against us—if not for the mercy of God. However, when we sincerely repent and seek His forgiveness, He wipes our slate clean. God promises, “I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more” (Hebrews 8:12, NIV). This means we don’t have to live under the weight of guilt and shame. The enemy often tries to remind us of our past failures to make us feel unworthy of God’s blessings. But this is a deception! We don’t earn God’s love or His gifts; they are freely given through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Yet, the Bible does tell us that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV). While we don’t work for His love, He delights in the time we spend with Him. Just as earthly parents love blessing their children, our Heavenly Father enjoys pouring out His goodness on those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

So, how do we judge ourselves rightly? The book of James gives us wisdom:

  • Do not judge others harshly (James 4:11-12 TPT).

  • Avoid complaining and instead trust in God’s plans (James 5:9 TPT).

  • Keep your hope and faith in God's daily miracles (James 1:6-8 TPT).

  • Speak truthfully and live with integrity (James 5:12 TPT).

  • Treat others as you would like to be treated (James 2:8 TPT).

  • Do not repay evil for evil, but overcome darkness with good (James 1:19-20 TPT).

Most importantly, we must remember that our battle is not against people, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12 KJV). We are called to fight the good fight of faith, trusting in the victory Christ has already won for us.

Take heart today—God’s grace covers you, His love surrounds you, and His Spirit empowers you to walk in righteousness.

To my awesome daughter who has been given gifts with so many godly attributes that flow to glorify your Daddy God. Read these scriptures until you are saturated with the Word so much that you are wholly lacking nothing (James 1:4 TPT). I love you!
